The Extended Day Site Director is responsible for overseeing the Extended Day Program at the Academy for Early Academic Preparation School. The Site Director is responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting and example for children, parents, and co-workers. The Site Director is responsible for the safety and well-being of students attending the program. The successful candidate must be very reliable, self-motivated, and a good role model.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a team environment and encourage open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents, or co-workers
- Communicate effectively with Director of Extended Day & Enrichment and parents/guardians
- Maintain positive relationships with school staff including Heads of School, secretaries, teachers, custodians, and any staff of key importance to the Extended Day Program
- Inform Director of Extended Day & Enrichment of general progress of the program and immediately regarding incident/behavior reports on children or with staff concerns.
- Relay pertinent information in a timely manner to all staff at the Academy for Early Academic Preparation school.
- Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, absences, and emergency information on each child
- Available to work Monday through Friday from 3:15pm-6:00pm
- Assist Extended Day Facilitators with creating weekly enrichment activities
- Order supplies for enrichment activities and inform the Extended Day Director when new/additional supplies are needed
- Ensures Extended Day Facilitators are implementing daily plans
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness
- Ensure that all staff and children are respectful of school property and school rules are followed
- Maintains positive relationships with parents/guardians
- Attends and participates in staff meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Successfully pass background checks
- At least one year of supervision skills and experience working with children in a group setting
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
- Experience with diverse populations
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
Reports to: Director of Extended Day & Enrichment
Schedule: Part-time when school is in session. All holidays and school vacations are off. (13.75 hours/week)
