Software Architect - Medical Device
Location: South West Pinehurst, MA area. Onsite position.
We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to lead the design and development of software platforms for cutting-edge medical devices. This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives in regulated environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compliant solutions that improve patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and oversee software architecture across multiple product lines.
- Ensure consistent application of design patterns, technologies, and development practices.
- Lead code and design reviews to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software platforms with business and regulatory requirements.
- Drive the integration of third-party technologies and modern software frameworks.
- Mentor engineering teams and contribute to complex software development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or architectural role.
- Must have hands-on experience in the medical device industry.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards including ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and 21 CFR Part 820.
- Proficiency in C++, QML, and Linux-based development environments.
- Familiarity with modern software tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Yocto, CMake, cybersecurity protocols).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project coordination skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and embedded protocols.
- Knowledge of Qt/QML, Boost, and secure software design principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
