Job DescriptionOverview:
A leading food and beverage manufacturing facility is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join its production team. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment and maintaining compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP protocols. This role is ideally a second shift opportunity starting at 2pm but there is some flexibility.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fluid handling systems.
- Rebuild and maintain electrical and mechanical components.
- Prioritize and execute work orders and emergency repairs based on operational needs.
- Document maintenance activities and develop operating standards and procedures.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure work areas are clean and safe.
- Use CMMS software for tracking maintenance and equipment usage.
- Comply with OSHA, GMP, and internal safety and quality policies.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 5+ years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with automation systems including PLCs, pneumatics, and motion controllers.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform manual labor.
- Comfortable working in environments with temperature fluctuations, steam, and allergens.
- Capable of bending, climbing, crawling, and working around moving machinery.
