We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive team dedicated to promoting oral health and patient comfort. Experience with EMR systems and pediatric dentistry is preferred, along with strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and HIPAA compliance.
Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to prevent oral disease.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and assess patient health status.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays using aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Review documentation and medical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Support chairside assisting during procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Maintain infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Ensure proper documentation review and accurate medical coding for billing purposes.
- Manage patient flow efficiently while delivering compassionate care tailored to pediatric or general dentistry needs.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix; experience with EMR systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or both is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting including vital signs measurement and medical imaging procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment and education.
- Familiarity with medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding processes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. This position is integral to providing high-quality dental care in a professional environment committed to excellence in patient service.
