Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting located in Florence, MA. This full-time contract position focuses on supporting students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and non-verbal students. Candidates will be responsible for delivering specially designed instruction in Sub Separate Classrooms for grades K-1 and 3-5.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload within Sub Separate Classrooms, providing tailored education and support
- Assisting with toileting and other physical needs for students with severe disabilities
- Collaborating with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) assigned to some students
- Implementing applied behavior analysis strategies and specially designed instruction to meet individual student needs
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
- Background in delivering specially designed instruction in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to provide physical care support, including toileting assistance
