Contract Length: 26 weeks preferred (13-week option available)
Local Travelers: Not accepted (must live 50+ miles from facility)
Hours: 8-hour days
Weekend Rotation: Saturdays 8a–12p
On-Call: None
Orientation: 8 hours
Position Overview
The Pediatrics Office Nurse provides outpatient pediatric care in a clinic setting, supporting patients from infancy through adolescence. This role is highly communication-focused, with phone triage making up approximately 80% of the daily workload. The RN collaborates with providers, supports LPNs and MAs, and ensures safe, accurate clinical care for patients and families.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct pediatric nursing care using the nursing process
- Conduct telephone triage and guide parents on symptom management, medications, and follow-up needs
- Collaborate with physicians and clinic staff to implement care plans
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Maintain accurate patient documentation
- Educate patients/families regarding diagnoses, care plans, and preventive health
- Support and mentor LPNs and MAs
- Ensure compliance with clinic and hospital policies
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements
- Pediatric experience required (all age groups)
- Triage / telephone nursing experience required
- Clinic or medical office experience preferred
- Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
- Must be comfortable spending ~80% of shift on the phone
- Must have an active NH or Compact RN license (no pending licenses)
Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA)
Submission Requirements
- Work history with clear pediatrics & triage experience
- Clinic skills checklist (completed within past year)
- 1 supervisory reference (signed, from last 2 years)
- Active NH or Compact RN license (must be current)
- Current BLS
- All RTO must be submitted at the time of profile

- No on-call
- Saturday rotation required
