We're looking to hire a qualified candidate who wants to start a career in the chimney and fireplace service industry. You'll work as a technician and a salesperson to work alongside upper management and learn all the tools of the trade. We're looking for someone honest, dependable, and ready for a career, not just another job.

Black Magic Chimney Sweeps, a leader in the home and hearth business segment, is looking for someone to offer the opportunity to grow within the industry while working with a supportive, tight-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed estimates based on customer requirements.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining chimneys, flues, and venting systems.
• Perform inspections to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
• Analyze costs, materials, and labor to ensure estimates align with the customer’s budget.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, the Operations Director, and office staff, providing clear updates on project progress.
• Conduct chimney and fireplace inspections and recommend solutions to clients.
• Follow up with customers throughout the process, offering guidance and support.
• Assist in sweeping and servicing wood and gas hearth appliances.
• Build strong relationships with customers to promote services and secure future sales.
• Maintain company vehicles and tools.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain working knowledge of all fireplaces, stoves, and related products along with any manufacturer's changes.
• Ability to manipulate and safely use all required equipment and PPE.
• Practice the "5 S Principles": Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Customer service and/or sales experience in a trade-focused industry preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with construction or chimney and fireplace industry experience is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required, some college or college degree is preferred but not required.
• Strong sense of professionalism, honesty, and discretion.
• Ability to diplomatically navigate demanding situations and requests.
