SUMMARY:
The Grounds person is position is to maintain the grounds and provide acceptable curb appeal for the assigned property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Plant and/or prune shrubs, bushes, hedges, plants, trees and flowers.
• Dig post holes for signs and fences.
• Maintain grass, lawns, plants and flowers including application /fertilizer and raking leaves.
• Provide adequate irrigation of all shrubs, grass flowers & trees.
• Responsible for daily trash pick-up including pet waste.
• Set railroad ties as needed.
• Paint signposts, fences and speed bumps as needed
• Assist with snow removal and ice melt application
• Repair fences.
• Appropriately report and address any hazardous conditions that exist on the property in a timely manner.
• Work with outside contractors and suppliers.
• Perform light maintenance duties and cleaning of interior building
• Follow company policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate company uniform, steel toe shoes and following property safety techniques and protocols.
• Complete required trainings as assigned.
• Attend required meetings.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience. Demonstrated knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes. Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other
landscaping equipment. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete assignments. Ability to pass background screening, Drug and Alcohol screening and Physical and Agility tests at time of hire and throughout employment.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
None.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts and electric shock as well as toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to extremes in weather.
It is the employee’s responsibility to use the personal protective equipment provided by John M. Corcoran and Co. The employee must provide and wear OSHA approved steel tip shoes.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Local travel may be required between properties as needed.
