Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A special education teacher role is available at a high school located in Worcester, MA. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and presents an opportunity to work with diverse students requiring tailored instructional strategies and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Adapt general education curriculum to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust interventions
- Maintain documentation and compliance with special education regulations
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment promoting student growth and independence
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and instructional techniques
- Ability to design differentiated instruction and behavioral plans
- Effective communication skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
