Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Facilities and Maintenance, the Shift Lead Person will ensure the timely repairs of downed equipment, PM’s are done per schedule and safety procedures are being followed. The successful candidate will also review Maintenance Procedures for improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

Typical activities include:

  • Responsible to organize, prioritize work on assigned shift or work transitioning from other shifts, allocate maintenance resources in alignment with business needs.
  • Communicate equipment status to other Maintenance shifts and Production Leads by the end of assigned shift.
  • Monitor maintenance work and ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair downed electro/mechanical/pneumatic equipment to get it back in operation.
  • Ensure availability of parts and materials required to complete tasks assigned to the Maintenance crew. Research alternate parts to replace obsolete.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) work orders document the actual work done time, materials used, problem diagnosis, outcome, etc.).and closed in a timely manner.
  • Support M-PET (CMMS) program continuous improvement (PM development and improvement, equipment data, spare parts and inventory).

Monitor contractors on assigned shift to ensure compliance with KMS Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 3 Years of experience in a skilled trades leadership position (shift or craft lead) minimum.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • The right person must have a MA license in at least one of the following:
  • Electrician, HVAC, Plumbing or Fireman’s.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).

What will put you ahead:

  • Multi trade experience.
  • Experience in troubleshooting Electro-Pneumatic Controlled equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc …)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and in proximity to loud equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear when in industrial locations.
