Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a LPN / LVN for a travel job in Claremont, New Hampshire.

Shift: Evening, 8 hours (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Hours: 40-hour weekly guarantee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & holiday coverage required

Position Overview

The nurse is responsible for providing quality resident care while supervising Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) in accordance with New Hampshire Board of Nursing requirements. Duties include medication administration, wound care, infection control oversight, staff supervision, documentation, family communication, and unit management during assigned shifts.

This role requires independent clinical judgment in a rural setting—candidates must have reliable personal transportation as public transit and ride services (Uber/Lyft) are not available in the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ongoing assessment of residents; report changes in condition to Supervisor and physicians.
  • Accurately transcribe and carry out physician orders.
  • Administer medications, treatments, oxygen therapy, enteral feedings, and wound care (including wound vacs).
  • Supervise LNAs, assign duties, monitor documentation, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate resident admissions, discharges, and transfers with full documentation.
  • Accompany physicians during rounds and ensure resident needs are addressed.
  • Maintain accurate MARs/TARs and electronic records.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and controlled medication regulations.
  • Facilitate family communication, resolve concerns, and obtain consents as necessary.
  • Provide unit oversight including therapy appointments, activity schedules, nutritional monitoring, and safety checks.
  • Train, evaluate, and mentor nursing staff; assist with in-service education.
  • Report to Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, or DON as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years current nursing experience (within last 6 months) — non-negotiable
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current New Hampshire RN license and BLS (AHA)
  • Preferred: IV certification, prior travel experience, and rural/small facility background
  • Must be willing to float
  • Must reside 50+ miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
  • Must be available for Christmas–New Year holiday block if scheduled
  • Reliable transportation required
