Position Summary:
The Specialty Behavioral Health Provider – Independently Licensed provides comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, patient-centered treatment planning, and ongoing outpatient therapy to FHCW patients of all ages with a range of cultural backgrounds and mental health diagnoses. The Specialty BH Provider provides a range of behavioral health modalities and culturally responsive, trauma-informed, evidence-based practices; engages in collaborative crisis management services in urgent situations. The Specialty BH Provider uses a team-based approach, in collaboration with other healthcare providers and care team members, to address individual needs and promote optimal health. Additionally, the Specialty BH Provider – Independently Licensed provides clinical supervision to BH Clinical Interns and non-licensed providers, as well as function as Manager on Duty as needed.
Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts culturally sensitive, strength-based, comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, creating a welcoming environment for diverse backgrounds, utilizing interpretation services when indicated
- Completes patient-centered treatment planning with measurable goals in collaboration with patients
- Provides outpatient therapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of each client
- Collaborates with medical providers and other care team members to provide holistic approach to mental health care and whole-person wellness
- Close all charts within forty-eight (48) hours of visit - ability to do concurrent/concordant charting/typing; including assessments, progress notes, and billing, upholding the highest standards of professional responsibility
- Participate in behavioral health quality improvement activities
- Participate in weekly group supervision, and seek peer consultation as needed
- Provide risk assessments and develop comprehensive safety plans, supporting the maintenance of stable functioning and empowering clients in their mental health journey
- Assists non-licensed staff with risk assessments as needed
- Provides clinical supervision to BH Clinical Interns and non-licensed Behavioral Health Providers, as appropriate
- Act as Manager on Duty as needed.
- Keeps abreast of all insurance requirements and submits paperwork accordingly.
- Continually evaluates service and maintains a productivity level that adequately meets the goals of the department and ensures access to the clients seeking services.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:
- Professional Independent Licensure required; LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, PsyD
- For LMHC and PsyD. candidates must have two years post-graduate clinical experience preferred
- Candidates require a minimum of two years post-graduate clinical experience
- Minimum of two years post-graduate experience for the PsyD. candidate is preferred
- Direct clinical work with individuals, children, and families is required
- Professional Licensure and Certification required: LICSW, LMHC, or PsyD. required
This position reports to the Manager of Specialty Services
