Are you looking to gain valuable industry experience in manufacturing? Are you currently enrolled in a Career Center program (VT/NH) or Technical School shop (MA) such as Advanced Manufacturing, Machining, Metal fabrication or Welding?
G.S. Precision a global leader in the manufacturing of critical components for the Aerospace, Space and Defense industry and has opportunities for High School Co-Ops to work in a variety departments such as milling, turn bar, welding or assembly, where you will learn skills working on CNC machines making precision parts or fabricating specialized parts. Quality is one of the key attributes of our company and as a Co-Op you will learn various inspection and measuring methods to ensure the highest level of quality for our customers.
Required skills:
- Follows all safety requirements including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
- Ability to use various measurement and inspection devices.
- Basic Math Skills
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures and complies with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Skills that will be developed:
- Operates machines in area assigned after set up by area supervisor, lead, and/or set up person, performing duties with a mentor.
- Assures compliance with job specifications by inspecting parts using micrometers, verniers, gages and/or other measuring devices including Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Vision System and bench inspection.
- Uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor process control and product conformance.
- Performs preventative daily machine and workstation maintenance.
- Ability to interpret customer blueprints and specifications.
- Able to fill out company inspection and production documents.
Requirements:
We are looking for students who are highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age and eligible for Co-Op through your Career Technical Center program (NH/VT) or Technical High School (MA). All applicants must be U.S. residents or hold a green card.
