Locations: Boston, Washington DC, Santa Monica, Downtown Los Angeles, or New York

Direct Counsel is seeking a Trademark & Copyright Associate Attorney to join a top-ranked national law firm with offices in major markets across the U.S. This firm’s Trademark, Copyright, and Advertising group is known for representing both high-growth disruptors and established industry leaders and is at the forefront of emerging issues such as AI-copyright litigation and complex trademark matters.

Position Highlights:

  • Handle a wide range of trademark, copyright, and advertising federal litigation.

  • Represent clients before the USPTO and Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB).

  • Conduct trademark clearance searches and risk analyses.

  • Advise on and implement U.S. and international trademark filing strategies.

  • Draft and negotiate licensing agreements and conduct IP due diligence.

  • Counsel on domain name disputes and copyright registration.

  • Collaborate across offices and manage a team of experienced paralegals and legal professionals.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in trademark, copyright, and advertising law.

  • Significant experience with TTAB proceedings and federal IP litigation.

  • Strong background in trademark prosecution, clearance, and enforcement.

  • Experience with transactional IP matters is a plus.

  • Excellent academic credentials and superior writing and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual salary range: $260,000 – $365,000 (dependent on location and experience).
