We are seeking a highly accomplished and results-driven SAT/ACT Tutor and College Counselor to join our team. This in-person, part-time role involves working directly with high school students to prepare them for standardized tests and guide them through the college application process.

Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexibility to take on additional hours based on student demand and scheduling needs.

We are specifically seeking candidates who have a distinguished record of success in SAT/ACT tutoring—those who consistently help students achieve significant score improvements and reach their college admissions goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1-on-1 instruction for SAT/ACT preparation

  • Create and implement personalized tutoring plans tailored to each student’s goals

  • Analyze work and implement skills to refine instruction

  • Teach strategies to improve test-taking confidence and performance

  • Provide college counseling support, including essay guidance, application prep, and school selection

  • Stay informed on current test formats and college admissions trends

  • Build strong relationships with students and families

  • Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents via session notes and Livius Prep staff

  • Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field

  • Proven, measurable success in SAT/ACT tutoring and college counseling

  • Strong understanding of standardized test content and strategies

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Genuine commitment to helping students reach their academic goals

  • Reliable transportation for travel within the Boston area

  • Availability for evening and weekend hours, and some daytime flexibility a bonus
