- Location: Berlin, Vermont (zip 05602) – Central Vermont healthcare jobs\n
- Assignment Length: 4 weeks (10/20/2025 – 11/16/2025)\n
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts\n
- Hours per Week: 36\n
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,100 - $2,250 per week\n
- Unit: Medical-Surgical with Telemetry (51 beds)\n
- Patient Ratio: 4-6 patients per nurse (nights)\n
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n
- Holiday Requirement: Work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)\n
- Floating: May float to similar Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed\n
- Documentation: Epic EMR experience required\n
\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
- \n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Vermont or compact state\n
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry\n
- Prior travel nursing experience required (at least 2 completed travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or previous UVMHN acute care experience)\n
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – NIHSS must be obtained prior to start\n
- Telemetry certification preferred\n
- Recent experience with Epic EMR (within past 2 years)\n
- Ability to interpret and respond to telemetry strips\n
- Peripheral IV placement skills preferred\n
- Reliable transportation required (public transportation not available)\n
\n\nMed/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diagnoses such as post-op ortho, urology, GI, COPD, CHF, diabetes, end of life, and dementia\n
- Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry monitoring\n
- Perform bedside procedures including NG tube and peripheral IV insertion\n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members (RNs, LPNs, LNAs, ancillary staff)\n
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR\n
- Float to similar Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed\n
- Contribute to a supportive, team-based work environment\n
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to facility dress code (scrubs provided or bring your own)\n
