ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Fitchburg, MA. - Caseload & Site Information: Specific caseload and school site details will be shared during your interview with our Special Services Director.
What Were Looking For:
- Required: Massachusetts state certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Preferred: Experience working with students with special needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other developmental challenges
- Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and behavioral management techniques
- Ability to differentiate instruction and tailor lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal growth
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction in a variety of subjects and skills, adjusting methods and materials to support students' learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and support
- Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure success
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
- Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and other professionals to support students academic and behavioral progress
- Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
