Job Description

Job DescriptionCHC is seeking internally for a Medical Assistant Supervisor

The Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for direct oversight and supervision of medical assistants at their assigned site(s). Provides a leadership role to medical assistant staff including recruitment, personnel management, day to day supervision, guidance, mentoring and training. Works in collaboration with and in support of the site’s triad leadership team and serves as liaison between clinical and operational leadership and medical assistants. Collaborates with and supports the clinical education department with ensuring staff appropriate orientation and competency. Serves as a primary champion of clinical operations and quality initiatives at the site and as the organizational liaison to Vermont Department of Health for all immunization activities.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

A) Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of high school diploma required; Associates degree in healthcare related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a clinical ambulatory setting with demonstrated experience in leading projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience as a trainer or experience in a leadership or supervisory experience.

B) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, facilitate group meetings and present information visually and verbally.
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage day-to-day staffing and personnel issues including recruitment, supervision, performance management
  • Ability to motivate, develop and direct staff to promote a strong cohesive team.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be a leader among the clinical staff in regard to quality patient care, documentation, customer service.

C) Licensure, Certification or Other Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a primary care or ambulatory care clinic
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CPR certification


Compensation commensurate with experience within the range of $54,686.11 - $70,109.63 annually.
