Job Description

Job DescriptionKinship Navigator – Lebanon, NH

Full-Time Position Available

Are you passionate about helping families thrive? Do you believe in the power of connection, compassion, and community support? Waypoint is seeking a Kinship Navigator to serve as a steady, knowledgeable guide for kinship caregivers—those stepping up to raise their relatives’ children—on their journey to stability and success.

About the Role

As a Kinship Navigator, you will be the vital link between kinship families and the resources that can change their lives. You’ll walk alongside caregivers—grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, and others—helping them access support through local agencies, community organizations, and government services.

From helping families understand their eligibility for state benefits to guiding them through the application process and connecting them with parenting support or trauma-informed services, your work will empower caregivers and strengthen family systems.

This role is part social worker, part advocate, and part navigator—someone who sees the big picture and helps families find the right path through it.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide one-on-one support to kinship caregivers, helping them identify and access services tailored to their unique needs.

  • Offer referrals and guidance for local, state, and community-based services including benefits applications, housing assistance, childcare, and educational support.

  • Connect families to parenting resources, support groups, and trauma-informed care as appropriate.

  • Help caregivers complete and track applications for state benefits and entitlements.

  • Conduct home visits when needed, meeting caregivers where they are—both literally and emotionally.

  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and programs to ensure families receive holistic, family-centered support.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in social work or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered).

  • Preferred Experience:

    • Supporting kinship care families

    • Navigating resources and benefits

    • Home visiting or parenting education

    • Trauma-informed practices and ACEs awareness

Additional Requirements

  • Successful criminal background check

  • No history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance with minimum liability coverage of $50,000/$100,000

Waypoint Culture

At Waypoint, we don’t just talk about values—we live them. Here’s what we stand for:

  • Asking bold questions, sharing feedback bravely, and taking thoughtful risks

  • Assuming best intentions and leading with compassion, even when learning from mistakes

  • Embracing a learning mindset—we’re always growing

  • Co-creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every individual is valued—especially those from historically marginalized communities

Why Join Us?
