Job DescriptionSalary:

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team. The Project Engineer helps the Project Manager and Superintendent plan and organize resources (people and material) for the successful execution of a project. They will assist the project team in the construction of projects ensuring project quality, schedule, cost control, safety, environment protection, profitability, and customer satisfaction objectives are met.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Attend DEW project meetings with Project Manager, Superintendent, and other applicable team members
  • Prepare and track submittals and maintain log per Project Manager and Superintendent
  • Review the manpower and equipment needs for the project with the Project Superintendent and assist as necessary with how these needs are met.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with coordinating and tracking all pricing requests for the project.
  • Assist with time entry and certified payroll tracking if applicable.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with the Companys Safety and Loss Control on all assigned projects.
  • Assist Superintendent with all project tracking including, but not limited to submittal logs, sign-in sheets, badges, logs, and insurance.
  • Assist Project Team with all on-site documentation required for the project.
  • Assist with Quality Control
  • Assist Superintendents with incomplete work list and punch list tracking
  • Must be able to handle issues in a timely manner
  • Type daily reports and correspondence as needed
  • Ensure updated schedules are maintained on-site and reviewed as they become available.
  • Maintain project files in an organized manner and in chronological order
  • Review and understand Subcontracts for assigned projects
  • Initiate all Change Orders, RFIs, and Shop Drawings in a timely manner and maintain an RFI Log, Shop Drawing Log, and Change Order Log that is updated and reviewed weekly.
  • Update Schedule weekly and ensure timely completion of work and delivery of materials to the site.
  • Closeout project in a timely and complete manner. Zero Punch list should be your objective.
  • Submit O&M manuals 2 months prior to the completion of projects if possible. Assist and schedule Owner O&M training with Subcontractors.
    • Review and/or collect field reports (if not already submitted to the Office):
    • Construction Daily Reports
    • Weekly Production Tracking
    • Subcontractor Coordination Meeting Minutes
    • Status of production, costs, and estimated costs with Superintendent
    • Coordination of Project Material POs and Project Service POs
    • Assist Superintendent with Short Duration Schedules
    • Safety Meetings and Safety Audits
    • As-Builts (PE to review final as-builts before turned over to Owner).

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field experience
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling, and estimating
  • Ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Ability to think ahead and plan
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
