Job Duties:

  • As a medical malpractice Associate, your role is dynamic and engaging, offering a perfect mix of independent responsibilities and collaborative teamwork.

  • You will manage your own caseload from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines.

  • Your days will be enriched by preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials, granting you invaluable courtroom experience.

  • Collaboration is crucial in this role, where you'll engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies.

  • Clear and regular communication with clients will be essential, as you provide them with updates and interim written reports on their cases.

  • Additionally, you'll conduct in-depth legal research, preparing memoranda to bolster case strategies, while working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.

Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts State Bar.

  • 2 to 6 years of medical malpractice experience.

  • Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests.

  • A self-starter mindset with at least two (2) years of trial experience in Massachusetts state and federal courts.

  • Ability to assist in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings, requiring strong advocacy skills.

  • Experience taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions.

  • Attention to detail and effective communication skills are key.
