Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is partnered with an exciting global firm to find an experienced Associate Vice President of Corporate Counsel to join our team in central southeast MA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic legal guidance in a dynamic insurance environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in corporate law, contracts, and compliance, along with a proactive approach to leadership and collaboration. Fulltime in the office 5 days a week. Manage a small team, director level.
Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including SaaS agreements, joint venture contracts, vendor relationships, and agency agreements.
• Provide legal counsel on corporate transactions and commercial matters to support business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including those specific to the insurance industry.
• Offer guidance on intellectual property matters and labor and employment law as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal risks and develop innovative solutions.
• Lead and manage legal strategies that align with organizational goals.
• Provide support on property and casualty insurance matters, if applicable.
• Demonstrate executive presence in advising leadership on legal and business strategies.
• Build relationships with external partners and stakeholders to support organizational growth.
• Ensure all legal documentation and processes meet high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in Massachusetts.
• 8-15 years of legal experience in corporate or commercial law, ideally from a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, intellectual property, and compliance; experience in labor and employment law is a plus.
