Vermont Cider Company is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Weekend Shift team. Working directly with the Production Manager in this hands-on position, the Production Supervisor will ensure the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring production staff.
Shift schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00am to 6:30pm - May be subject to change depending on production needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assigns daily workload to ensure production requirements are met. Adheres to all safety processes and procedures and ensures they are followed by Operators.
- Coaches, trains, and monitors Operators’ activities in operation of equipment and executing duties in manufacture of product.
- Assists in the resolution of production, quality, and maintenance problems as they occur.
- Keeps Production Manager informed of workload, production, quality and personnel issues.
- Recommends staffing changes to adjust for changes in workload.
- Ensures adherence to quality, manufacturing processes and all Company policies and procedures by direct reports.
- Ensures work areas are kept safe and clean.
- Will need to be hands on to ensure production requirements are met. Operates machinery as necessary to insure production completion.
- Complies with all VCC policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are conducted within local, state and federal laws.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Individual must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Completes and delivers annual performance reviews for all direct reports and recommends wage adjustments.
- Conducts regular meetings with Operators to review safety, quality, and productivity issues.
Requirements:
Qualification & Skills
- Must have at least 2 years proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment
- Must clearly understand schedules and their implementation.xcellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to create and adhere to production processes
- Experience in job expediting.
- Understand the collection and utilization of metrics.
- Ability to write reports legibly and accurately
- Proven communication skills
