Job Summary:
The Paraprofessional plays a key role in supporting student learning and maintaining an effective classroom environment. Working under the direction of a classroom teacher for instructional responsibilities and an Assistant Director for non-instructional duties, the Paraprofessional helps ensure that all students are engaged, on task, and making academic progress.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support daily instruction and classroom structure

• Assist with classroom management using the school's assertive discipline model

• Uphold and enforce all school rules and policies

• Support students during group and independent work time

• Reinforce student engagement, focus, and participation in daily lessons

• Provide targeted academic support in reading, language, math, writing, and spelling groups

• Monitor student progress and offer assistance to students who need additional support

• Check, correct, and/or grade assignments as directed by the teacher

• Provide guidance to students on incomplete work or academic questions

• Administer assessments and retakes as directed

• Participate in assigned supervision duties including arrival, lunch/recess, and dismissal

• Attend mandatory school events such as Back to School Night

• Support school operations and perform duties as assigned by the Leadership Team

• Attend and participate in all required professional development sessions

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to analyze information and draw valid conclusions

• Familiarity with school policies, as well as state and federal education laws

• Strong collaboration, classroom support, and interpersonal skills

• Willingness to take initiative and support the academic and behavioral success of students

• Must pass all applicable MTELs within one year of employment

• This is a full-time, annual position subject to yearly performance evaluation
