Summary

Full Time Infant/Toddler Teacher at 5 STAR Child Care in Brattleboro
Horizon Early Learning Program is seeking to hire a Toddler Lead Teacher - 40 hours per week, Full Time.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Lead Teacher is to lead the Classroom while implementing a rich and equitable learning environment where communication is key.She/he will be responsible for implementing lesson plans and quality care for every child in a developmentally appropriate manner, ensuring opportunities for creative growth while promoting all areas of developmentally appropriate practice including, but not limited to: social-emotional, cognitive, physical and speech/ language skills in a child-centered learning environment, while maintaining state child care licensing regulations.
*Must be qualified as at least Teacher Associate or close to receiving this credential.
*Must have a positive attitude and be an active and cooperative team member

Duties

Teacher or Teacher Associate will be responsible for implementing lesson plans and quality care for every child in a developmentally appropriate manner, ensuring opportunities for creative growth while promoting all areas of developmentally appropriate practice including, but not limited to: social-emotional, cognitive, physical and speech/ language skills in a child-centered learning environment, while maintaining state child care licensing regulations.A strong foundation in family partnerships, support, collaboration, communication and growth is a must.

Requirements

Teacher or Teacher Associate must be: At least 20 years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED and meets at least one of the following qualifications, along with at least 12 months of experience:
* VT Career Ladder level 3 certificate
*An Associate degree from an accredited college, majoring in Early Childhood Ed, or Human Development, or Elementary Education or Child and Family Services
*A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program
*A Child Care Certificate from the Community College of VT with 12 months experience
*Successful completion of 21 college credits with an early childhood or school-age focus
Teachers: anyone qualified with a teaching license or bachelor's degree and higher credentials are also welcome to apply!

  • Early Education experience.
  • High energy and ability to work outdoors in all climates.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (Can obtain once hired)
  • Must clear full background check.
