Job Summary

This position is responsible for processing semiconductor wafers in a cleanroom environment using various wafer fabrication equipment and processes. Processes may include photolithography, thin film deposition, wet and dry etching, annealing, grinding, and dicing. The role requires strict adherence to process instructions and safety protocols, including the use of PPE.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process semiconductor wafers using established wafer fabrication processes.

  • Organize and manage workflow to meet production goals.

  • Maintain and support existing wafer fabrication processes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues.

  • Perform basic data analysis and maintain accurate records.

  • Operate wet benches and handle chemicals used in etching.

  • Collaborate with process sustaining engineers to ensure process integrity.

  • Summarize and communicate findings clearly to engineering and management teams.

  • Operate various wafer fabrication equipment such as:

    • Photoresist coaters

    • Mask aligners

    • Metal evaporators

    • PECVD systems

    • Wet etching stations

    • Grinders and dicing saws

  • Follow detailed wafer traveler documentation for each process step.

  • Report equipment issues to maintenance and perform basic preventative maintenance tasks.

  • Recommend and support implementation of process improvement initiatives.

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.

  • Proficient with basic computer applications (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field, engineering, or science.

  • 3 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing or wafer fabrication.

  • Proficiency in operating wafer fabrication equipment (e.g., photolithography tools, PECVD, evaporators, dicing saws, etc.).

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical equipment issues.

  • Strong data analysis capabilities.
