Location: Boston Metro, MA | Hybrid: 2 remote days per week
Salary Range: $85K-$90K | Bonus Eligible
Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 9-5
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Transaction Paralegal to join its busy Commercial Transactions Group. This role supports attorneys throughout all phases of complex commercial finance transactions, including real estate mortgage financings, commercial and industrial loans, asset-based lending, alternative energy transactions, and loan workouts and foreclosures.
Key Qualifications
- College degree required; Paralegal Certificate or advanced education preferred
- 3+ years of experience in commercial finance or transactional law, preferably within a law firm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and PDF software
- Experience with legal and government electronic filing systems, including UCC and registry platforms
- Exceptional proofreading, writing, and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deals and deadlines
- Professional, client-focused communication style
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, improve processes, and suggest efficiency enhancements
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys through all stages of commercial transactions, from initial documentation through post-closing
- Prepare and manage transaction documents, including closing agendas, settlement statements, and ancillary loan and corporate documents
- Conduct and track organizational due diligence, closing checklists, and transaction timelines
- Order, review, and summarize title updates, UCC searches, tax lien searches, and litigation searches
- Review and analyze title commitments, policies, and recorded documents, summarizing findings for attorney review
- Prepare, file, and manage UCC financing statements
- Research corporate entity status across multiple jurisdictions
- Coordinate and assist with commercial loan closings
- Organize closing binders, shared digital file sites, and manage post-closing due diligence
- Communicate professionally with clients, lenders, vendors, and outside counsel via phone and email
- Occasionally assist the administrative team with office-related support as needed
