An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with strong skills in medical-surgical nursing to provide high-quality patient care in a 25-bed adaptive acuity unit. This position requires experience managing drips and the ability to work charge nurse responsibilities when needed. Nurses should be prepared to occasionally provide progressive care unit (PCU) level care with a 3:1 patient ratio as part of their duties, which is a fixed requirement of this role.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN license with medical-surgical nursing experience
- Proficiency in administering and managing intravenous drips
- Ability and willingness to fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as required
- Experience working in adaptive acuity or progressive care settings preferred
- Comfortable with patient ratios of up to 1:5 on general shifts and 1:3 during PCU care
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 25-bed adaptive acuity unit
- Provide PCU-level care on occasion as required with appropriate patient ratios
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned, overseeing unit operations and supporting team members
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
This is a contract position located in Chester, Vermont, suited for nursing professionals ready to contribute their skills in a dynamic clinical environment. The schedule includes standard shifts; holiday time off requests will not be considered due to staffing needs.
