The Software Engineering discipline is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to serve as the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS)/GhostEye Exportability Sub-Integrated Product Team Lead (Sub-IPTL) within the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) business area. LTAMDS offers next generation sensing capability to counter next generation threats.

Functionally this role will report to the Embedded Product Security Center’s Software Security Sensors and Effectors Department within the Software Engineering discipline.

This position is a full-time onsite role in Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do

The LTAMDS/Ghost Eye Exportability Sub-IPTL is responsible for driving the flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance of a few teams across relevant contracts within LADS. The Sub-IPTL manages software product development including:

  • Software Requirements Development

  • Design Code Test and Integration

  • Software Formal Qualification Test planning, procedures and results​

  • Software Maintenance (Management and Resolution of Software Trouble Reports)​

  • Software Product Configuration (Software Version Descriptions, Test reports)​

These products may be LTAMDS/GhostEye-unique or shared with other programs. The Sub-IPTL manages cost, schedule and quality and is responsible for product level metrics collection and management. The Sub-IPTL is also expected to support proposal activities and maintain staffing projections.

This Sub-IPTL role requires direct and frequent collaboration with leaders throughout the organization.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of experience.

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Software engineering design, development, production, system integration, verification and qualification

  • Experience working and leading in Agile Scrum environments

  • Experience in proposal development

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated leader of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in Hardware, Software, Systems Engineering, or Production

  • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS)

  • Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction

  • Demonstrated history of mentoring and apprenticing junior engineers

  • Very strong written and oral communication skills to communicate clearly with all levels of team and leadership

  • Experience managing technical progress vs cost/schedule for large engineering teams

  • Proactive, comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tiered environment

  • Expert at using EVMS to manage program execution

  • Solid understanding of radars and all components of a modern phased array radar

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
