Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher within an elementary school setting located in Derry, NH. This contract position is for the current school year (CSY) and offers the chance to support and empower diverse learners through specialized instruction tailored to meet their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt classroom materials and teaching methods to address various learning abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth and development
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Patience, creativity, and commitment to meeting the individual needs of students
