A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney

As a civil litigation Associate Attorney at Morrison Mahoney LLP, your role is dynamic and engaging, offering a perfect mix of independent responsibilities and collaborative teamwork. You will manage your own caseload from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines. Your days will be enriched by preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials, granting you invaluable courtroom experience. Collaboration is crucial in this role, where you'll engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies. Clear and regular communication with clients will be essential, as you provide them with updates and interim status reports on their cases.

What Matters Most

To succeed as an Associate Attorney (Civil Litigation) - Boston, MA, you will need a robust set of skills and qualifications.

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts State Bar, are essential prerequisites.
  • You should possess at least one (1) year of prior civil litigation experience and experience in both Massachusetts state and federal courts.
  • You should be a self-starter with strong advocacy skills. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.
