Description:

The coordinator will collaborate with the director to initiate, promote, implement, evaluate, and supervise high-quality fitness and aquatic programs for Independent Residents and Taylor Community Members. Key responsibilities include working with the team to ensure the provision of qualified staff and leaders for programming, teaching group exercise classes, personal training staff and residents, develop and implement other Wellness programs and activities. The role involves developing and maintaining equipment maintenance plans, orienting residents and non-residents to fitness equipment, ensuring safety and satisfaction in all exercise and aquatic programs, and maintaining proper chemical balance in the pool by checking chemicals four times a day. Additional duties include keeping locker rooms, the pool, gym, and other common areas clean. This position is 35 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Wellness team to initiate, promote, and oversee fitness and aquatic programs.

- Instruct group exercise classes

- Personal train staff and residents

- Assist in recruiting and supervising qualified staff and non-staff leaders for the programs.

- Develop and maintain maintenance plans for all fitness equipment on campus.

- Provide orientations to fitness equipment for residents and non-residents.

- Ensure safety and satisfaction for all participants in exercise and aquatic programs.

- Maintain proper chemical balance in the pool, checking chemicals four times daily.

- Ensure cleanliness in locker rooms, the pool, gym, and other common areas.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in allied health, Recreation, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field preferred.

- Certified Personal Trainer or Health/Fitness Instructor from a nationally recognized certifying agency (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, NASM, AFFA, ACE).

- Standard First Aid and CPR certifications.

- Experience working with older adults.

- Experience in teaching group exercise classes preferred.

- Experience in personal training

- Experience in wellness/fitness program development
