Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Learning Specialist to support K-12 students in a dynamic urban school environment located near Dorchester and Roxbury, Boston, MA. This full-time contract position involves working closely with a diverse caseload of students requiring specialized instructional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special education needs
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with privacy regulations
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to parents and team members
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education license required
- Experience working in urban school settings preferred
- Reading license is an asset
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, or Haitian Creole highly desirable
- Strong oral communication skills and ability to collaborate professionally
- Flexibility and capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
