Summary
MSHC is looking for a part time LMXO to cover weekends. (8am-4pm)
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Radiology Limited X-ray Operator is responsible for performing specific diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment. This position requires a NH license for performing X-ray exams and the ability to provide compassionate patient care. The LMXO is responsible for performing and sending exams to Radiologist in a timely manner as well as work with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services.
Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
1.Operate x-ray machines to capture images of limited body areas as credentialed
2.Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
3.Ensure proper shielding and radiation safety measures for patients and self.
4.Process and label x-ray films or digital images accurately for physician review.
5.Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions.
6.Follow all regulatory and facility-specific protocols for imaging and patient confidentiality.
7.Assist in maintaining patient records and documentation.
8.Support clinical staff with other duties such as patient intake, vital signs, or administrative tasks, if required.
9.Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
·Successful completion of a Limited X-Ray Technician course.
LICENSE/ CERTIFICATION:
·LMXO certificate
·State Licensure as required
·Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
EXPERIENCE:
·Previous experience as a LMXO preferred, but new graduates with clinical training will be considered.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
·Ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
·Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate MRI equipment and evaluate images.
·Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
·May require prolonged periods of standing, reaching and bending to move patients and heavy equipment.
·Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
·Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
·Work is performed in an outpatient imaging center environment.
- Exposure to radiation and infectious diseases, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Variable work hours, including some evenings weekends as needed.
·May require standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
·Exposure to magnetic fields and potential allergens such as contrast agents.
·Must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment as required.
·Work is performed in a professional office environment.
·Involves frequent telephone contact and interaction with others.
·May involve contact with sick people.
·Work may be stressful at times.
·Interactions with other is constant and interruptive.
·Combination of office and exam setting
·Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances and other conditions common in a healthcare setting. OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen Category 1.
