Our client, a successful and busy law firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys in the Employment department handling a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination actions, compliance matters, and general advisory work. The ideal candidate thrives under deadlines, is highly organized, and has direct experience supporting litigation from case intake through trial or settlement.
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in, 2 days remote) after onboarding
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience) + great benefits!
Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests/responses, demand letters, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Assist with case management: organizing case files, maintaining calendars, tracking deadlines, and coordinating schedules.
- Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts (including e-filing and federal PACER/ECF systems).
- Support attorneys with phases of litigation: fact development, document review, deposition preparation, and trial preparation.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Manage document production, including organizing documents and preparing exhibits.
- Handle administrative tasks such as billing, travel arrangements, time entry, and file maintenance.
Requirements:
- 2 or more years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in litigation
- Proficiency with court filing procedures in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
- Strong command of legal terminology, litigation workflow, and document formatting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
