Maintenance Mechanic | Heavy Industrial Manufacturing | Preventative Maintenance
Position Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify the root cause of problems.
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
- Repair and service various types of machinery including crushers, graders, mills, and kilns.
- Maintain and repair heavy industrial equipment such as cranes and vehicles.
- Utilize hand tools and cutting tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Document all maintenance activities and repairs performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and production personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or mechanics preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Experience with preventative maintenance procedures and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics - solid mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in an industrial environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Possess a basic tool kit or have the ability to obtain within first few weeks of employment.
