This opportunity is for an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a dynamic hospital setting. The position is a contract role based in Concord, NH, within a busy Emergency Department equipped to handle a wide range of acute medical situations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience for contract candidates
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC for contract staff
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication abilities with both patients and healthcare team members
- Dependability and punctuality with a flexible approach to patient care
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Preferred: familiarity with EKG interpretation and experience with trauma, stroke, and cardiac care
- Adaptable to high-pressure situations and proficient in specialized equipment use
Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered care to a diverse patient population, including those with trauma, stroke, psychiatric conditions, and complex cardiac issues
- Perform procedures such as laceration repair, intravenous and intraosseous insertions, eye exams, and EKGs
- Utilize advanced emergency equipment including ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, and rapid infusers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure protocol-driven and effective treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation using Sunrise/Allscripts EMR systems
- Adhere to department dress code and safety policies, avoiding hooded shirts or sweatshirts
- Work every other weekend as part of scheduled shifts
