Lead Carpenter
Location: Central New Hampshire (Full-Time, On-Site)

A skilled Lead Carpenter with extensive experience in high-end residential construction. Known for delivering excellent workmanship, mentoring team members, and maintaining a professional, organized, and positive jobsite environment. Brings strong problem-solving abilities, builds meaningful relationships with homeowners and trade partners, and demonstrates a high level of care and attention to detail in every project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production on the jobsite, working hands-on alongside Journeyworkers and Apprentices
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, elevations, sketches, and specifications
- Plan work sequences, daily goals, and material needs to maintain the schedule and quality
- Perform and/or delegate all phases of residential building, including framing, finishes, and everything in between, with an eye for quality and detail.
- Coordinate licensed and specialty subcontractors on-site
- Uphold and demonstrate company standards for quality, safety, professionalism, and client care
- Communicate clearly with the Project Manager regarding progress, needs, schedule, and issues
- Train, mentor, and guide less-experienced carpenters with patience, clarity, and pride
- Maintain a clean, protected, well-organized jobsite and workspace
- Use project management software (we use JobTread) for daily logs, updates, and communication
- Represent Center Carpentry on site, being respectful, solution-oriented, and customer-focused
Qualifications
- 7 or more years of professional carpentry experience, including finish and custom detail work
- Ability to independently execute framing, trim, cabinetry install, windows/doors, siding, and general carpentry
- Strong leadership presence, able to set tone, pace, and expectations on site
- Own a well-maintained professional tool set (larger equipment provided by the company)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable lifting 75-100 lbs, working on ladders/scaffolding, and outdoors in seasonal conditions
- Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and teammates
- Humble, accountable, organized, and committed to continuous improvement
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, W-2 Employee.
- Pay: $34 to $40/hr to start, depending on experience and craftsmanship level
