Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A direct-hire opportunity is available for a dedicated School Psychologist to support a year-round special education elementary school in Waltham, MA. This role offers the chance to work with a small group of 12-15 students from kindergarten through 8th grade, focusing on both academic and emotional development. The position emphasizes the delivery of emotional regulation groups, providing valuable therapeutic support to students in need.
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Hours: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM plus 5 additional paid hours weekly for independent planning
- Waltham, Massachusetts
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and provide interventions tailored to K-8 students with special education needs
- Lead 4-5 weekly emotional regulation groups, each lasting approximately 35-40 minutes
- Collaborate with educators and staff to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support plans
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a positive school environment
- Utilize additional paid planning time to prepare for group sessions and individualized student support
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. in Psychology or valid licensure as a School Psychologist
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Experience working with children in K-8 special education settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff
