Solar Electrician
About the Opportunity
Our client is now one of the leading Massachusetts-based installer of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) paired with solar energy. Solar + Energy Storage provides customers with complete in-home energy systems with backup power and the ability to generate, store and use energy in even a prolonged power outage.
The state of MA has heavily incentivized ESS to reach "net-zero" climate goals by 2050 by offering zero-interest loans and incentives covering up to 80% of the installed cost. The value proposition is there, we just need skilled electricians to do the work.
Responsibilities
- Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required for residential and commercial solar PV and ESS systems.
- Collaborate on project planning / execution with fellow electricians and project managers.
- Supervise the work of apprentice electricians and installers.
- Ensure electrical systems meet company standard job specifications, the National Electrical Code, and other relevant local codes
- Provide regular reports of team activities to project managers
- Assist in job safety and overall crew support including staging materials, general site work support, as well as site preparation and clean up
- Keep service van stocked properly
- Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on projects
- Correspond professionally with homeowners
- Provide regular updates of job status, complete necessary paperwork and photos
- Able to troubleshoot electrical issues independently
Requirement and Qualifications
- Current/valid Massachusetts Journeyman license/ CT license
- National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge required
- Valid driver’s license
- Solar installation experience preferred, but not required
- Residential / commercial electrical work experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly rate: $50/hr, 40-45/hrs per week
- Full benefits begin on day 1
- 3 weeks paid vacation per year
