As an extrusion machine operator, you will be responsible for operating one of the eight extruders on the floor. The role involves setting up the machine up to five times a day, monitoring and maintaining it during operation, and a mix of standing and sitting tasks. You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in spooling and shipping.
Responsibilities
- Set up extrusion machines up to five times daily.
- Monitor and maintain machines during their run.
- Perform a mix of standing and sitting tasks.
- Cross-train in spooling and shipping tasks.
Essential Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Extrusion experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in production, machine operation, and general labor.
- Familiarity with assembly, machine operating, packaging, and inspection.
- Experience with hand tools and forklifts.
Hours
Monday-Thursday, 7 am to 7 pm
Work Environment
The work environment is a well-maintained and pleasant shop, though not temperature-controlled, which can lead to warmer conditions in the summer. The facility includes a break room and offers a flexible schedule with the opportunity to work up to 60 hours per week, or a standard 40-hour week if preferred. The Friday shift is encouraged but not mandatory.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
