Seasonal Event Support

POSITION SUMMARY

We're seeking energetic, detail-oriented, and guest-focused individuals to join our team at the Smuttynose Campus as Support. This crucial front-of-house support role ensures the smooth flow of service, maintains the cleanliness and readiness of the dining, bar and kitchen areas, and supports both FOH and BOH teams in delivering an outstanding guest experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service & Team Support

  • Promptly clear, clean, and reset tables between guest seatings to maintain smooth service flow and minimize wait times.
  • Assist FOH & BOH during busy service periods by running food, refilling water, and delivering condiments and utensils.
  • Supportthe team with table turns, guest seating, and floor flow as needed.
  • Maintain a warm, approachable presence that enhances the overall guest experience.

Hospitality Maintenance

  • Restock bar stations with glassware, napkins, cocktail tools, and supplies throughout the shift.
  • Retrieve and polish glassware and utensils to ensure a consistent supply of clean wares for bar and dining service.
  • Monitor and refill service stations with ice, silverware, plates, napkins, and other guest necessities.
  • Keep the bar top, counters, and communal areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Change kegs and replenish bottled/canned beverage inventory under bartender direction.

Cleanliness & Sanitation

  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout shift, particularly in high-traffic guest and staff areas.
  • Wipe down and sanitize high-touch surfaces including tables, chairs, railings, and service stations.
  • Empty and replace trash and recycling bins throughout the venue, including bar, dining room, restrooms, and kitchen as assigned.
  • Assist in restroom checks and light upkeep during service hours.

BOH Area Support

  • Assist BOH team with light prep tasks such as washing produce, portioning condiments, folding pizza boxes, or organizing dry goods as requested.
  • Run dish racks and help maintain clean glassware and bar tools in dishwashing area.
  • Organize clean wares and assist with restocking dish stations and prep areas as needed.

Opening, Closing & Side Work

  • Complete opening and closing side work, including setting up and breaking down dining and bar areas.
  • Help stock linens, restock napkin dispensers, refill condiments, and maintain organized supply areas.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and contribute to a positive and communicative team culture.

Physical Demands & Work Environment This position requires the ability to work in a physically active environment for extended periods. Team members must be able to:

  • Stand and walk continuously throughout shifts (up to 8+ hours) on hard surfaces, including concrete and tile.
  • Routinely lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs (e.g., trash bins, kegs, stacks of dishware, cases of beverages).
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements such as wiping surfaces and stocking supplies.
  • Safely handle cleaning products and kitchen tools, following sanitation guidelines.
  • Navigate tight spaces and high-traffic areas quickly and safely, including during peak service hours.
  • Tolerate a range of temperatures, including warm or hot kitchen environments, cold storage areas, and brief outdoor exposure.
  • Work in a fast-paced, noisy setting that includes background music, guest conversations, and kitchen operations.
