What You'll Do

The Medical Fee Specialist is responsible for reviewing and analyzing AIM Vantage (AV) bills for accuracy and confirming the medical provider is currently in the AV program. The ideal candidate has previous experience in the medical billing and coding field.

• Review affiliate bills for coding accuracy and confirm the physician listed is in the affiliate program.
• Adjudicate AV bills based on current AV fee schedules and adjust them accordingly.
• Evaluate medical bills received and determine appropriate reimbursement level per established fee schedules.
• Assist with CMS compliance, updating ICD codes and Stop Processing non-Medicare Eligible claims.
• Learn how to negotiate fees outside of AV fee schedules.
• Track and maintain fee savings data on Excel spreadsheets.
• Provide support to the Affiliate and Medical Cost Coordinator and claim department with fee negotiations and Medical Director assignments, as needed.

This position offers a hybrid working schedule after an initial training period.

We're looking for someone that has:

• an associate degree in health or business administration, or 3-5 years’ equivalent work experience in health care, business, managed care, and/or workers’ compensation field,
• a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in medical billing and coding field is strongly preferred,
• proficiency in medical terminology, coding principles, and medical billing process,
• the ability to understand CPT codes and DIA rates,
• excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail,
• proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel,
• and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of workers’ compensation and occupational health is a plus!
