Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Elm Grove Workspace is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the execution of residential renovation and construction projects. In this vital role, you will work closely with Project Managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to our high-quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Coordination

  • Assist with project setup including scheduling, permitting, and coordinating inspections.

  • Liaise between trades, suppliers, and subcontractors to manage daily workflow.

  • Prepare and maintain construction timelines and support material procurement.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as a client-facing point of contact for questions, updates, and walkthroughs.

  • Support the client experience through clear and professional communication.

  • Assist with managing selections and processing change orders.

Documentation & Administration

  • Maintain organized records including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project files.

  • Track material orders, delivery schedules, and jobsite activity logs.

  • Help compile punch lists and finalize close-out documentation.

Budget & Cost Monitoring

  • Track invoices, receipts, and expenditures to support accurate job costing.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to monitor budgets and financial updates.

  • Assist in preparing billing documents and tracking payments.

Site Support & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct site visits to support project progress and coordination efforts.

  • Work with supervisors to uphold jobsite safety and cleanliness standards.

  • Ensure quality craftsmanship aligns with company and client expectations.

QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Interior Design, or related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in residential construction or remodeling (internship or fieldwork accepted).

  • Knowledge of residential construction phases, materials, and building codes.

Skills & Abilities

  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and scopes of work.

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with project management platforms (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, or similar).

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred).

  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).

  • Project Management or Residential Construction Certification (a plus).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and conduct physical tasks on-site.

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, crouching, and reaching.

  • Tolerance for working in outdoor environments and exposure to construction materials.

Work Environment

  • Field-based role with frequent visits to active residential or commercial job sites.

  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and potentially hazardous conditions.
