Summary of role

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

We are seeking candidates interested in gaining research experience by supporting three ongoing research projects, BRAVVO and UpGage being conducted at the Fenway Institute at Fenway Health, a global leader in LGBTQIA+ health research and a major provider of healthcare services for people who use drugs in the Boston area.
BRAVVO: This is a qualitative study that aims to understand barriers to medication adherence and HIV care engagement for people with HIV. The goal of the study is to create a training for providers and health educators to help support their patients with HIV in engaging in care and achieving viral suppression.
UpGage: This study will involve collaboration between clinical psychology researchers, Fenway Health leaders and staff, and structurally disadvantaged people who use stimulants. We aim to identify critical barriers to HIV prevention services, and unmet (e.g., psychosocial, and structural) needs via in-depth qualitative interviews; select evidence-based intervention content (e.g., skill-building problem-solving and emotion-focused coping skills) to meet these needs; and refine the selected interventions, with provider key stakeholder feedback, to be optimized for implementation in Fenway Health.

Job Description
The Uban Environmental Chemist provides expert advice and technical support in the assessment, management, and mitigation of chemical-related environmental issues. This role involves conducting detailed environmental studies, interpreting data, and developing strategies to address chemical contamination in water and wastewater. The consultant works closely with clients from various sectors, including industrial, governmental, and non-profit organizations, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to promote sustainable practices.

POSITION SUMMARY
Epsilon is seeking a full-time project scientist or engineer to work as part of the Epsilon team on a wide range of environmental licensing, permitting and compliance projects. This position will encompass work primarily in the Acoustics Group.
 
In the Acoustics Group, the successful candidate will assist with community sound level measurement programs, meteorological data collection, data analysis, shadow flicker analyses for wind turbines, sound level modeling, and report preparation. This position requires periodic fieldwork as well as overnight, out-of-state travel for renewable energy projects.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:

<li> 2-7 years of experience in a consulting environment,</li>
<li>B.S. or B.A. in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Physics,</li>
<li> Experience in using sound level measurement equipment,</li>
<li> Experience with the CadnaA modeling software,</li>
<li> Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel</li>
<li> Superior written and verbal communication skills, and</li>
<li> Ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary project team</li>
</ul>
The successful applicant will also have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have project management experience. Experience in the energy industry, materials handling business, transportation/FHWA TNM modeling, and Python is a plus along with experience in presenting technical material to clients, agency staff and/or regulatory boards. In addition, experience in noise control engineering is preferred. An understanding of HVAC system design would be beneficial.
 
In addition to the Preferred Qualifications, the Candidate must have a valid drivers license to operate a motor vehicle for business travel, including proper insurance and registration, and have all necessary paperwork to work in the USA.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB 
The Candidate must:
