The Director of Resident Services position requires a high level of detail and organization skillsets, along with motivation and genuine concern for families and the community. The Director of Resident Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day case management tasks and making sure HOU continues to offer assistance to residents that will continue to better their quality of life. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Staff will receive and must pass specialized training to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or enhanced medical care.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 4:00PM-9:00PM (25 Hours)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ol>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with skills training in all activities of daily living.</li>
<li>Create opportunities and provide support to individuals to make decisions to develop their skills and foster independence.</li>
<li>Provide services to individuals according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with all medical, clinical, and financial needs.</li>
<li>Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.</li>
<li>Maintain required documentation according to DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Assist individuals with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.</li>
<li>Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.</li>
<li>Maintain core training certifications including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.</li>
<li>Maintain other additional required training and certifications as required by the program.</li>
<li>Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Required Education/Experience: 
<ol>
<li>Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associates or DSP Certification preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities is preferred.</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.</li>
</ol>
Required Skills/Knowledge: 
<ol>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills so that the writing of required documents is clear and articulate.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license and one year of driving experience.</li>
<li>Computer literacy includes the ability to use proficiently Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.</li>
</ol>
Physical Demands:

<li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb stairs.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.</li>
<li>The employee must be able to drive a vehicle and regularly meet the driving record requirements of the agency.</li>
<li>Must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.</li>
<li>Must have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.</li>

The primary purpose of this position is to provide each of the assigned residents with routine daily care by assisting with direct resident care duties and indirect resident care duties, as directed by the charge nurse, and/or certified nursing assistants.

<li>Assist residents in dressing and personal hygiene.</li>
<li>Assist CNA’s with residents requiring 2-staff transfer except in mechanical transfers. </li>
<li>Make occupied bed. </li>
<li>Assist in obtaining weights. </li>
<li>Provide full or partial bed bath. </li>
<li>Perform incontinent care in bed to residents who can move in bed. </li>
<li>Assist residents who are not on swallowing or aspiration risk with meals. </li>
<li>Pass, set up, and collect trays. </li>
<li>Place belongings within resident’s reach (call light, glasses, TV remote, glasses, etc.) </li>
<li>Answers call bells in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Make unoccupied bed. </li>
<li>Empty commodes and urinals. </li>
<li>Transport residents to the dining room for meals. </li>
<li>Accompanying residents on outside appointments as needed. </li>
<li>Visit with residents providing 1:1 supportive interaction (i.e., read their mail, newspapers, or books to them, transport them for visits outdoors when within residents’ care plan, transport to activities, transport to hairdresser, help to write letters, make telephone calls, etc.) </li>
<li>Assist residents in communication involving technology (zoom, face time, skype, google meet, etc.). </li>
<li>Ensure personal care items are put away and stocked (check with Team Leaders or Nurse Manager for appropriate stock.) </li>
<li>Gather supplies need for provisions of care, passing out linens. </li>
<li>Pass out drinks to independent residents who are not at risk for impaired swallowing/aspiration, check residents' drinks at bedside and verbally encourage residents to drink. </li>
<li>Report resident’s intake to Team Leaders. </li>
<li>Offer the resident nourishments and/or distribute nourishments from the dietary department. </li>
<li>Check fall precautions: bed monitor, mats, and personal alarms. Check and clean dirty wheelchairs after each meal or after incontinent episode. </li>
<li>Check and clean tub and shower room. </li>
<li>Greet newly admitted residents upon admission, escort to room as necessary, receive paperwork from referring agency, and inform Unit Manager/Charge Nurse of arrival. </li>
<li>Assist with inventory of new admissions. </li>
<li>Assist in arranging for and making appointments for diagnostic therapeutic services. </li>
<li>Direct visitors to residents' rooms, office areas, etc. </li>
<li>Photocopy and fax per the needs of the unit. </li>
</ul>
