Essential Functions: To provide support in day programs and in the community that enable individuals served with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries to develop and maintain skills that foster personal growth and independence.
Responsibilities:

<li>Assist individuals served with personal care tasks, which include, but are not limited to: toileting, grooming, personal hygiene, assisting with mobility, repositioning, dressing, and range of motion exercises.</li>
<li> Support individuals in the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Independent Living Development tasks, which include but are not limited to: cooking, cleaning, general maintenance, shopping, money management, safety and self- preservation.</li>

<li> Learn and utilize communication tools which include but are not limited to email, tablets, letter boards, etc. taking into consideration the method most suited to individual needs.</li>
<li> Assist individuals with planning and implementing community-based activities and group activities within the day program and local community. Facilitate group activities designed to support the achievement of individual served goals and objectives.</li>
<li> Create opportunities to teach and support financial and safety skills. Encourage skill building to promote increased independence.</li>
<li> Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP’s)/Day Habilitation Support Plans including implementation of behavioral plans and rehabilitation support plans.</li>
<li> Assist individuals with maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of indoor and outdoor areas.</li>
<li> Transport individuals served to and from day program and other activities as required.</li>
<li> Using approved techniques and only as necessary, restrain individuals to prevent injury to themselves and others.</li>
<li> Record data by the conclusion of each shift. Documentation requirements include, but are not limited to: communication notebooks, ISP/DHSP data, and behavior tracking</li>

Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>At least 3 months experience implementing behavioral support plans and emergency physical interventions.</li>
<li> High school diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.</li>
<li> A minimum of one year experience working with individuals with brain injury, developmental and/or physical disabilities required.</li>
<li> Ability to record data using a computer, enter time worked into an electronic system and receive and send email required.</li>
<li> A valid driver's license in state of residence preferred.</li>

 Community Living Instructor (CLI) Job Description ____________________________________________________ TITLE: Community Living Instructor (CLI) STATUS: Full-Time or Part-Time CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None REPORTS TO: Community Support Facilitator (CSF) House Manager ___________________________________________________________________________________ Description: Community Living Instructors supervise, dress and feed intellectually disabled adults. Such supervision entails providing necessary instruction to support and assist participants with maintaining their independence and safety in the community. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Prefer 1+ year of experience working with intellectually disabled adults, prefer ILS experience, or special education teaching experience. An appropriate combination of experience and education may be substituted for some part of the qualifications. Prefer behavioral training, knowledge of Regional Center System servicing developmentally disabled. Prefer reliable and safe transportation and auto insurance Pre-Employment Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to be trained within 30 days of employment. Negative TB/Chest X-Ray (prior to employment). Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (prior to employment). Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening (prior to employment). Current personnel certifications, clearances, and reports as required by agency policy or licensing/Regional Center Requirements.
 Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee needs to be able to communicate with participants/clients and hear, regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach within arm’s length, lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds, possess visual acuity, and be licensed and able to drive during their assigned work shift. JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Duties: The Community Living Instructor (CLI) is required to devote a minimum of 90% of work hours each week to Personal Attendant duties, specifically, supervision, feeding and dressing of participants/clients who, by reason of advanced age, physical disability or mental deficiency, need supervision. Other Duties: The Community Living Instructor (CLI) is expected to devote no more than 10% of work hours to other duties. Some CLIs will be required to perform some or all of the following duties as part of their responsibility to supervise their Participants: 1. Implement program curricula working with participants on daily objectives and goals. 2. Directly deliver individual and group learning experiences to assist each participant served in obtaining his/her IPP objective. 3. Maintain data regarding participant progress. 4. Prepare teaching material for Independent Living Skills Training and Support Service sessions. 5. Schedule participant session time and programming according to their Individual Service Plan and the Training domains. 6. See Individual participants in their home to train, teach and provide support in: money management, nutrition, cooking, comparison shopping, emergency procedures, community education, counseling and crisis intervention. 7. Coordinate participant training programs with other programs with which they are involved. 8. Report suspected abuse immediately to supervisor, case manager and other appropriate agencies as instructed. Complete special incident report within 24 hours. 9. Keep participant files up to date at the home of the participant. 10. Assist participant in coordinating with other programs, services and benefit systems, such as Social Security, AFDC, WIC, Food Stamps, counseling, Planned Parenthood, etc. 11. Understand and convey, in your interactions with your participants and other agencies, the participant-centered philosophy of A Bright Future.
12. Attend monthly staff meetings, and monthly individual meetings with supervisor. 13. Must attend all training provided by A Bright Future, Inc. 14. Other duties as assigned.
