Job DescriptionSalary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Supervision:
    • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and maintain detailed records of work progress and issues.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Verify that materials and workmanship meet the required standards and specifications.
    • Identify and report any defects or deviations from the contract documents.
  • Communication & Reporting:
    • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and the client.
    • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site activities, progress, and quality issues.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Observe and report on-site health and safety practices.
    • Ensure that contractors adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including photographs, inspection logs, and correspondence.
    • Assist in the preparation of snagging lists and final inspections.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, civil engineering, or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).

Desirable:

  • Membership of a professional body such as ICWCI (Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate).
  • Experience with digital reporting tools and construction management software.
