Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision:
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain detailed records of work progress and issues.
- Quality Assurance:
- Verify that materials and workmanship meet the required standards and specifications.
- Identify and report any defects or deviations from the contract documents.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and the client.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site activities, progress, and quality issues.
- Health & Safety:
- Observe and report on-site health and safety practices.
- Ensure that contractors adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including photographs, inspection logs, and correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation of snagging lists and final inspections.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, civil engineering, or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
Desirable:
- Membership of a professional body such as ICWCI (Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate).
- Experience with digital reporting tools and construction management software.
