Reports To: Assistant Manager / General Manager
About the Role:
The Shift Leader is responsible for running high-energy, smooth shifts while maintaining Jersey Mikes standards of customer service, food quality, and cleanliness. This role is a key stepping-stone to Assistant Manager and supports store leadership with training, team motivation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead crew members during assigned shifts
- Run the slicer, grill, register, and prep areas as needed
- Ensure all products are prepared according to Jersey Mikes recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns during shifts
- Coach and train new hires on procedures and expectations
- Monitor labor, productivity, and shift flow
- Handle cash management and drawer counts when assigned
- Assist with maintaining inventory levels and product rotation
- Support the opening or closing of the store depending on schedule
Qualifications:
- Prior food service or customer service experience preferred
- Leadership experience (formal or informal) is highly valued
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay calm and lead during busy periods
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Must be available for weekends and some holidays
