Position Summary
Assist the Director of Finance with the daily activities of the Accounting and Finance Department. Ensure compliance and efficient operation of functional areas of responsibility.

- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Support Accounting Specialists with their daily activities by providing guidance and assistance where needed
- Monthly Close
- Input financial journal entries into accounting software
- Assist Finance Director in researching account discrepancies
- Review/Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis ensuring the account balances are substantiated with appropriate support from sub-ledgers
- Review entries to ensure Internal Control pertaining to Sales Recognition, Procurement (A/P), etc. are applied;
- Cost and Project Accounting
- Create and manage project financial structures within D365
- Support project management and engineering with cost tracking of internal projects versus budget
- Partner with department heads to review and update their cost forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of production KPIs
- Perform variance analysis and investigate manufacturing variances
- General
- Organizes, sorts and file documents and reports regularly
- Adheres to operating procedures and compliance guidelines including federal and state laws and regulations
- Interface with local banking and financial institutions
- Perform quarterly Sales & Use tax filings
- Supports finance leadership with internal and external audits (i.e. E&Y, SOX, Hitachi)
- Support, subscribe to and practice, 5S, JIT and Process Improvement activities
- Observe safety procedures and conduct, use equipment and materials properly
- Support 5 S programs
- Observes safety procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
- Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent.
- Currently possesses, is pursuing, or willing to pursue the CMA accreditation is a plus
- At least 2 years’ experience performing financial analysis in manufacturing setting
- Work well within a team environment, as well as act independently
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using sound judgment consistent with policies and practices
- Working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Solid understanding of entire accounting processes, close cycles, A/P, A/R, PR
- Familiarity with Financial reporting process including compliance with ISO and SOX
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Detailed oriented with attention to accuracy and thoroughness
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet or exceed deadlines
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and troubleshoot activities
- Willing and adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
- Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Accounting software and programs
- Proficiency utilizing computer programs, customized systems, and Microsoft office including WORD and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Physical Demands
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment, including PC
- Working at a desk in office environment
- Light lifting and carrying of files, supplies, etc.
- Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person
- Body motor skills sufficient to move for one office location to another
